Static QR codes. Free forever, no signup, no upload.
Your data never leaves this browser — every code is a static code, generated on your device. No account, no subscription, and nothing in the middle that could ever switch a printed code off.
Static vs dynamic: the printed-code trap
Most QR generators with a big marketing budget sell dynamic QR codes: the pattern points at their redirect server, not your content. When the trial or subscription ends, the redirect — and your printed code — stops working. Business cards, wedding invites, banners: people only find out after printing. StaticQR does the opposite: it only makes static codes, where the content is inside the pattern itself. No redirect, no account, no expiry — nothing to renew, ever. Read the full explainer.
Frequently asked questions
Do these QR codes expire?
No. StaticQR only generates static QR codes — your content is encoded directly in the pattern. There is no account, no redirect service and no subscription, so nothing can ever switch the code off. It will work for as long as the destination exists.
Is it really free? What’s the catch?
Yes, free with no limits. The catch is that there is no catch: the code is generated by JavaScript running in your browser. We have no server costs per code, so there is nothing to charge you for later.
Does my data get uploaded anywhere?
No. Generation happens 100% on your device — you can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and everything still works. Check your browser’s developer tools: the network tab stays silent.
Which error-correction level should I pick?
M (15%) is the right default for screens and clean prints. Pick Q or H if the code will live outdoors, on stickers, or under a logo — H survives up to ~30% of the pattern being damaged or covered, at the cost of a denser code.
PNG or SVG — which should I download?
PNG for documents, slides and quick prints (pick 512–1024 px). SVG for anything a designer or print shop will scale — it is a vector, so it stays razor sharp from business card to billboard.
